Looks better than the day it was new, mainly because I didn't like E90 when it came out.

Ah yes, the car that made me hate BMWs for a brief while until I drove an E39 530i to rinse my palate.

Sluggish steering really killed it.

I nteresting... Not sure if there is any major changes from the rack in m y 2012 335xi but the one in my car has kicked the crap out of nearly every car I have driven. I have zero complaints with its response and feel.

Do you have the adaptive steering? The M3 does but the 328i doesn’t, it makes a big difference.

Did they ever make any changes? The steering is one of my favorite parts about the E9X.

I know for a fact that the very early E90s had complaints with complaints about numb steering. I felt the same thing, and this is coming from someone with a Pontiac G6 with an electric steering at the time.

I do however remember driving a later 2007 335i coupe, it was much better.

I think it’s fair to say an M car is not representative of the higher volume, lease special models, lol.

I have not driven an early E90, so I can’t really tell you my thought about it. I’m also basing my thoughts on my E92 328i, not the M3. Even then I still think the steering is wonderful. It’s possible they updated the steering during the E9X production.

They definitely tweaked something by the time the E92 hit. Like I was saying the 335i I drove later felt different, and it was just one MY later.

I couldn’t find anything with a quick search, but they probably did.

The first time I saw an E92 was in Strasbourg France in 2007 . I turned to my buddy and said “Damn, BMW nailed it”.

Bought one in 2006....what a horrible pile of crap. Back windows rolled down on day 4 and would not roll up. Stereo was defective and replaced after 1 week. Air conditioner never worked right from day one...they refused to fix it for almost 2 years....then would not cover it under warranty. Steering column had to be replaced. Run flat tires got louder as they wore to the point you could not have a conversation in the car. Never used the heat because it got freakishly hot inside the car all year round even with everything off. Trim pieces fell off weekly and if you looked at the front wind shield funny i t would crack ( replaced 4 in 30,000 miles) My favorite was the paint....bird droppings ate through the clearcoat in a matter of hours....I recall rinsing them off after work and damage already occurred....less then 12 hours and permanent damage. Bluetooth only worked with a motorola Razor....when I upgraded to an iphone I was told it was not compatible. Traded it finally for a 2008 Camry Hybrid and it felt like such an upgrade.

However, that model is beautiful....and will be enjoyed unlike the real thing
